Twenty of our Monarch club members have recently completed a "Crash Course for the Motorcyclist" training course generously offered to us by RoadSafe South East. The feedback was this course was excellent and should be included in learner and licence testing.
RoadSafe South East are a community group located in the South East that participate and deliver road safety programs for all road users. They are funded by Vic Roads, and supported by Victoria Police, local government, community members and interest groups.
Phil Lemin from Street Cred Training has been presenting this training for many years, and is an experienced ex paramedic and motorcyclist
“A Crash Course for the Motorcyclist” instructs motorcyclists what to do at the scene of an accident until help arrives. The most likely person to be at the scene of a motorcycle crash is another motorcyclist. The primary goal of the class is to reduce severity of injury & fatalities at the scene of a crash through proper actions and reactions.
If you would be interested in attending this training please email us at monarchsmotorcycleclub@gmail.com for further information, or Google Street Cred Training and Phil Lemin.

Another fantastic Crash Course for the Motorcyclist Training session was provided by Phil and Lezanne on the 28th of May for our group.
Comments on how much they had learned from attending this training was expressed by all that attended.
Thanks again to Roadsafe South East and Department of Transport for providing the funding, and I hope that we may be able to secure more training sessions in the new financial year.
If you get the opportunity to attend one of these training sessions, or would like to book Phil and Lezanne to present this training for your riding group, please contact them directly by email: streetcredtraining@gmail.com

Training Provide for Accident Scene Management Australia
Motorcyclist are well known as being vulnerable Road Users and the risk of trauma is high.
Motorcyclists by nature like to ride in remote areas away from Medical Response Motorcyclists are the most likely person to come across a motorcycle accident as we frequent the same roads or ride in groups.
Traditional Rider Safety focus in on Crash prevention and Medical Delivery focus on hospital recovery.
But there is a hole that exists which is immediately post crash. There is no plan until now
Normal risk management should always include a plan to respond to the event you are trying to avoid. This is where the Bystander Assistance program and the Crash Course for the Motorcyclist has its strength Our Aim is to build the willingness and capability for the general motorcycle community to build these skills.
The Crash Course for the Motorcyclist also realises that standard first aid practices are not best practice for trauma victims.
Our Aim to give the Motorcycling community these skills.
The Crash Course for the Motorcyclist and Advanced options provide training to the General public.
The Crash Course for the Motorcyclist provide training to build confidence and knowledge in the management of an Accident Scene until the arrival of emergency services. Skills are taught in a sequential easy to understand format that is easy to recall and as we promote a standardised program, other bystanders with training can quickly slot in to assist.
Skills include: Accident Scene Management, safety containment and execution Assessment skills in determining the correct care needed for efficient response Practical skills such as airway management including Helmet Removal, when and how Bleeding management including recognition of life threatening unseen bleeding updated use of tourniquets
Accident Scene Management Australia teaches a contextualised form of the Nationally Recognised Australian Provide First Aid certificate HLTAID011. With training and assessment delivered on behalf of Allens Training Pty Ltd RTO 9090. An online pre course covers the standard first aid theory that allows if the student is successful with a practical assessment on the day.
The Crash Course for the Motorcyclist is presented by Motorcyclists with advanced first aid skills such as paramedics or trauma nurses. Let's build these skills in our Australian Motorcycle Community one day you may be on the receiving end of this live saving treatment.
Participants often remark, “ gee now I want someone who has done this course to be the ones attending to me”
